Seeds

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant”. Theres a lot to be said about instant gratification in todays world. Modern technology allows one to enjoy the worlds content all from a click of a button or touch of a screen. This kind of thinking extends itself out into the workplace when deciding to make hiring decisions. Why hire and train your own staff when you can outsource your capabilities overseas? Why plan ahead when you can just take things day by day?

We benefit daily from the hard work and sacrifices that were made by our ancestors and predecessors, only to take it for granted. I know I have benefitted many times in my career, and life, from people going out of their way to help me. Thinking back, I wonder why? Great people plant seeds for trees for which they will never sit underneath. For some tasks, there will be no reward; and conventional work culture will tell you that putting in the extra effort is not worth it.

At breakfast I would like to discuss with you the seeds that you have planted, or the times you’ve been planted as a seed.

How often do you come across your seeds, and were they intentionally planted?

Are there any seeds that you regret planting?

For the times that you have been there to reap the reward, when do you decide to harvest?
